Santa Barbara Man Dies in Nojoqui Summit Crash

California Highway Patrol officers are investigating a deadly crash in Santa Barbara County.

CHP authorities identified the man that died as 30-year-old Mark A. Medina of Santa Barbara.

County fire officials said a solo driver was going northbound on Highway 101 in a small yellow box truck.

For and unknown reason the driver crashed into the center divider. The driver was trapped in his car and died at the scene from his injuries.

The accident happened at 7:45 a.m. Tuesday just before the Nojoqui Summit.

Investigators said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in this crash.
