Early Morning DUI Collision Injures Child in Santa Maria

Three people, including a child were sent to the hospital after two vehicles collided in Santa Maria.

It happened after midnight on Saturday at Broadway and Taylor Streets.

Investigators saya 2011 ChevySilverado pickup truck was northbound on Broadway at Taylor when a 2007 Ford Mustang ran ared light, eastbound on Taylor, and was broadsided by the Chevy truck.

Three people in the Ford Mustang, including an 11 year-old boy had moderate injuries and were sent to Marian Regional Medical Center.

The driver of the Mustang was 18 year-old Esteban Cardona who suffered minor injuries.

Police transported Cardona to Santa Barbara County Jail for Felony DUI and Child Endangerment.

Both vehicles had major damages and were towed from the scene.
