Man Hit and Killed Near Oceano Dunes
The San Luis Obispo Coroner’s Office is investigating the death of a man hit and killed by a vehicle at Oceano Dunes.
The accident happened about 5:30 p.m. Sunday night. The 52-year old victim from Grover Beach left his vehicle just south of Post 3 on the beach at Oceano Dunes SVRA when he was hit by a vehicle heading northbound.
State Park Rangers tried to save the man who ultimately died from his injuries.
Officials with the California Department of Parks and Recreation are also investigating. At this point, alcohol or excessive speed do not appear to be factors.
