Residential Burglary Arrest Tied to Facebook

Oak View resident Kristy Butler, 38, was arrested by Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies in connection with a series of burglaries that occurred in Oak View near Ojai. A month long investigation discovered that Butler was using Facebook to sell some of the stolen property.

Detectives from the Ojai area patrol station located some of the stolen property at Butler’s home in the 10000 block of Santa Ana Road during a search warrant served on December 23rd. Butler was connected to at least five burglaries.

Stolen items included vacuum cleaners, power saws, and child safety seats among other things.

Butler was booked on multiple counts of burglary at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility in Ventura.

The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office wants to remind anyone with any information regarding Butler and the sale of stolen property on Facebook to contact the Ojai area station detectives at 805-947-8075.
