Local Theater Will Screen ‘The Interview’ Movie

Lights! Camera! Action! ‘The Interview’ will see the light of day, or in this case, the night, as the Arlington Theater will screen the controversial film on Christmas Day at 10:45 p.m.

The Arlington Theater manager in Santa Barbara confirmed the news.

There will be additional screenings at least through December 28th, but Arlington Theater Manager Karen Killingsworth said she is hopeful the film will continue to screen well beyond the December 28 date.

Killingsworth also added that the film will screen at 10:45 p.m. once a day through the 28th.

Santa Barbara Police officers will be present on opening night.

The film starring Seth Rogen and James Franco, who was in Santa Barbara during the 2011 Santa Barbara International Film Festival, was nearly shut out due to the film’s controversial storyline in which the two friends are recruited by the CIA to assassinate the notorious North Korea leader. This prompted a massive hacking attack and a public relations nightmare to Sony Pictures.

Other movie theaters screening ‘The Interview’ include:

Santa Paula 7 – Santa Paula, CA
Janss Marketplace 9 – Thousand Oaks, CA
Agoura Hills Stadium 8 – Agoura Hills, CA

Tickets for the Arlington Theater screening are on sale now and at the theater’s box office.
