Arroyo Grande Boy to Receive Diabetic Alert Dog

An Arroyo Grande boy will receive a diabetes alert dog thanks to contributions from local businesses and Jack’s Helping Hand.

Brodie Stancliffe has a severe case of Type 1 diabetes and at 6 years old, he’s unaware of when his glucose levels become too low or too high.

Luna, a Chesapeake Bay Retriever is training at the Northwest Imprinted Medical Alert and Service Dogs Center in Washington.

When she joins Brodie in April, Luna will be able to smell if Brodie’s glucose levels become dangerous.
