High Surf Advisory for Central Coast Beaches

Waves looked calm on Friday evening, but State Park officials said that would soon change.

“On high surf weekends, its not uncommon for both beach ramps to have water all the way up to the ramps,” said Ofc. Jennifer Wilson as she pointed to an area near the Oceano Dunes.

“It’s gonna start going down to a nine to eleven foot, high surf advisory on Sunday,” she said.

Dana Ostby frequents the beach and said he’s looking forward to some high surf.

“Ya, I’m actually kind of excited about it because my kids love to surf,” said Ostby.

The advisory also calls for some minor coastal flooding and possible beach erosion to some piers.
