Music Lovers Enjoy a Tuba Christmas in Santa Barbara

Amidst the Christmas caroling in shopping areas around your local malls, there’s also been a special performance for those strolling in downtown Santa Barbara by brass musicians.

Saturday the annual Tuba Christmas took place in downtown Santa Barbara.

Over 40 musicians gathered in Storke Placita near State St.

While there were many brass instruments used in the nearly two hour show, there was a special selection of holiday songs specifically played by the tuba section.

The Tuba Christmas performance here was one of many across the nation. One of the largest is at Disneyland with over 500 tubas!

The event is coordinated by the Santa Barbara Downtown Organization.

The conductor is Eric Heidner from the Santa Barbara City College music department.
