Debris Blockage Under Thompson Bridge Concerns Nipomo Residents

With another storm on the way, neighbors who live along Thompson Creek in Nipomo say they’ve been battling San Luis Obispo County over the condition of their creek.

Dumping is illegal but nearby homeowners have found brush, trash and even furniture.

They say because of illegal dumping and the design of the creek, the next storm may flood their neighborhood.

Glenn Marshal, an Engineer for San Luis Obispo County Public Works says if culverts are blocked, the county will take care of the issue. Debris spread along the creek is on private property lines, which means nearby homeowners are responsible to clean up the mess.
