Car Accident Near Goleta Sends Elderly Women to Hospital

Two elderly women are in the hospital following a vehicle accident outside a CVS parking lot near Goleta.

Santa Barbara County Fire Engine 13 responded to reports of a pedestrian hit by a car in the 800 block of South Turnpike Road shortly after 11 a.m. Monday.

The California Highway Patrol said two elderly female pedestrians were struck by a car backing up from a handicapped parking spot.. Early reports on the emergency traffic radio said the two women were unconscious.

The women were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. CHP said one of the women was complaining of hip pain.
