Tree Falls On Home In Carpinteria
A large tree fell on top of a Carpinteria home Monday night.
One person inside the cottage thought he heard the tree fall in the back yard, but when he went outside around sunset he realized the tree landed on his roof. Firefighters put caution tape around the building. No one was hurt, but residents had to wait for the tree to be cut down before they could return home.
The tree fell behind the Murphy King Real Estate property on Carpinteria Road.
A crew from Branch Out Tree Care said the prolonged drought is one of the reasons the tree came crashing down. Dale Olivas said the root system came out of the ground. He said drought conditions, recent rainfall and the weight of the tree all played a role. Branch Out crew members have been busy. They said a lot of trees are falling.
