Carpinteria City Council Re-thinking Oil and Gas Zoning

Carpinteria City Council members are considering future zoning plans for areas known for oil and gas processing.

Veneco officials said no fracking is currently going on and they hope zoning will not prohibit current projects.

Environmental groups say every city has the right to consider zoning that affects surrounding areas.

About 70 people signed up to speak at Monday night’s City Council meeting.
