Cate Volleyball Sweeps into CIF Finals

No player on the current Cate High School girls volleyball team was even born the last time that the Rams played for a CIF title. But that will change this weekend as the Rams swept Summit of Fontana 3-0 in a semifinal game to advance to the CIF Division 4A championship game against Duarte. It will make the program’s first championship game appearance since 1992.

Peyton Shelburne, the reigning female Athlete of the Week at the Santa Barbara Athletic Round Table, led Cate with 16 kills as they won their 13th straight game, all by three set sweeps. Cate is 22-1 overall.
