Deputy Who Suffered Stroke Spoke For First Time
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s deputy who suffered a major stroke, spoke for the first time since August this weekend.
Deputy Dan McSkimming, 43, spoke his first words Saturday to his two young children.
He said, “Hey, buddy” to his son and “I love you” to his daughter.
This was an unexpected surprise for his wife of 12 years.
Since the on-duty injury that caused the stroke, McSkimming has been in the hospital and is now at a rehabilitation center.
His family and co-workers at the Sheriff’s Office hope he continues to recover.
