Lompoc Valley Medical Center Honors Organ Donor

The Lompoc Valley Medical Center honored the late Stephanie Kazianka for her donation that helped about 50 people.

Kazianka passed away in 2011 at the age of 60 from cardiac abnormalities. She gave away her kidneys, corneas and tissue.

Family members of Kazianka were presented with a flower vial and dedication rose. The dedication rose will be placed on the 2015 Donate Life Rose Parade float called, “The Never-Ending Story.”

“The thing that gets me through it, whoever got a part of my mom got a steel spine,” Kazianka’s daughter, Katy Wallace said.

Wallace and her family now run in the annual Donate Life Run/Walk as Stephanie’s Dream Team.

Wallace wants people to know about the benefits of organ donation. She said this is a way to help keep her mother’s memory alive and continue her legacy.
