Morro Bay Hwy 1 Fatal Accident Undiscovered for Hours
A fatal single vehicle accident was reported early Tuesday morning on Highway 1 in between Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo.
According to California Highway Patrol, a female in her 20s was driving a 2009 Mazada sedan northbound on Highway 1 when she lost control of the vehicle.
CHP reported the sedan was just north of San Luisito Creek Road when she made an unsafe turning movement and drove off the eastside of the road.
The vehicle crashed into a concrete culvert, and was not visible from the road.
The collision time has not been determined and wasn’t discovered until a ranch worker in the area found the car at 2:40 a.m. Tuesday.
When CHP arrived on scene, the driver was deceased.
The woman’s identity has not been released.
