Garage Blaze Injures Ventura Firefighter

A garage fire that broke out Monday night left a Ventura city firefighter with minor burns.

The flames broke out just before 8:00 pm in a two-car garage along the 100 block of Warner Street.

By the time the first trucks arrived, the garage was engulfed in flames.

Twenty-five firefighters made an aggressive attack and were able to keep the blaze from spreading to the nearby home.

However, the strong odor of smoke forced some of the residents to sleep elsewhere Monday night.
