Thousands Gear Up For Select Staffing Santa Barbara Veterans Day Marathon & Half

Four thousand people are expected to run in the Santa Barbara Veterans Marathon this weekend.

The marathon will begin at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday beginning at Dos Pueblos High School and will end at Leadbetter Beach.

Road closures will be setup along Cathedral Oaks Road, Los Carneros Road and Hollister Avenue, just west of Storke and will be enforced until 10 a.m.

On race day, a Color Guard and fly over with vintage war planes in formation.

Also a live rendition of “Reveille” and “Charge” will be played by a bugler to kick off the marathon and half-marathon races.

Race organizers said there are over two hundred active military or Veteran personnel entered in the race event.
