Solvang Haunted House Opens Thursday Night
The 21st Annual Haunted House at the Solvang Festival Theater will be open Thursday and Friday night for kids and adults looking for Halloween fun.
This year’s theme is “The Fog”, and the theater and grounds are decorated as an abandoned seaside village.
The spooky maze includes various sets from a fisherman village, with a boardwalk and bait shop, to a behind the scenes look inside an abandoned fishing vessel.
The event is kid friendly for the first half hour, from 6 to 6:30 p.m., and then the monsters are set free to roam until closing at 9 p.m.
Crews have been working on the haunted house for several weeks and they’re ready for opening night.
Haunted House director and set designer Fred Lageman said, “By far this is our biggest set on stage. We do have quite a bit of animatronics and compressed air mechanisms that we use too, so we have a couple really good things in store this year.”
Tickets are $8 for kids 13 and under and 14 and up are $10.
The event helps support Solvang Recreation programming and scholarships.
