Students Learn About Agriculture in ‘Kinderpatch’

In the spirit of the fall season, hundreds of kids from Orcutt and Santa Maria schools went home with a free pumpkin and plant.

It is all part of Righetti High School’s Kinderpatch event Friday.

This is where young kids learned about plants, crops and caring for animals. Future Farmers of America students put on the morning activities and said they look forward to the fun event that brings smiles on kids’ faces.

An apple tree was also gifted to each of the schools represented at the event.

Kinderpatch is a 20-year-old community tradition.
