Robbers Connected to Seven Holdups in Santa Maria
Josh Vargas is concerned about the slew of robberies happening in Santa Maria.
“They feel like they can get away with anything,” said Vargas, who just moved to the Central Coast from New York.
Santa Maria police say that Saturday night and Sunday morning, two men robbed two stores and went to three neighborhoods and robbed people.
The first one happened Saturday night just after eight on McClelland Street.
The second occurred two hours later in the 700-block of South Curryer Street.
Shortly after that, police say thieves traveled over to this market on
Benwiley Avenue and held up the clerk.
After midnight, before the final holdup on Concepcion Avenue, police say the 7-Eleven convenience store on South Broadway was hit.
Investigators believe two men caught on tape last week are responsible for the robberies and two that occurred last week.
Sam Mossin thinks “the lack of work around” could be the reason for the string of robberies.
Santa Maria police are asking anyone with information to call 805-928-3781.
