Downtown Solvang Burglar Sought
Three burglaries at two downtown Solvang businesses has prompted a call for information from the public.
The Greenhouse Cafe was hit once by a burglar and the Pebble People gift shop was hit twice, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department.
In the early morning hours of September 8, deputies responding to a burglary call at the Greenhouse Cafe on Atterdag found a window smashed, the cash register pried open and cash taken from inside. A search using a police dog did not turn up anyone.
Two days later on September 10, also in the early morning hours, the Pebble People on Copenhagen Drive was burglarized. A door was forced open and jewelry display cases were looted. Again, a search found no one.
Nine days later on September 19, the Pebble People was again burglarized. The alarm was heard by a deputy patrolling on foot nearby. Again, the burglar got away with more jewelry.
