New Housing Units Coming to Punta Gorda Street in Santa Barbara

New housing is coming to Punta Gorda St. on the Santa Barbara Eastside. It will replace an old, dilapidated mobile home park.

Construction is underway where Punta Gorda St. backs up to Highway 101 near Milpas St.

40 units will go on the site. They will be prefabricated or mobile home-type structures, giving the area a fresh look

The project is timed to coincide with improvements to lower Sycamore creek.

This area is normally hit hard during major storms with the creek over flowing and, at times, flooding the residential area.

Both projects will improve water runoff, and housing needs.
