Central Coast Weekend Picks 09-05-14
Here’s a look at a few of the events happening the first weekend of September along the Central Coast.
TOUR & TASTE OF THE VALLEY | SATURDAY | ORCUTT
On Saturday, the 2014 Tour & Taste of the Valley will be in Orcutt to help raise money for The Boys and Girls Club.
The event includes bike rides, a new 5K run, live music and wine, beer and food tasting.
All of the proceeds from the event will help support the local youth programs.
Biking starts at 7 a.m. and the taste begins at 11 a.m.

MORRO BAY DAHLIA PARADE | SATURDAY | 10 AM
Morro Bay’s 50th anniversary of the city is this weekend and they are taking to the streets for Dahlia Daze.
The parade will include floats, marching bands, cars, horses, dancers and clowns.
The celebration will get under way at 10 a.m., making its way through downtown and will finish at the Morro Bay Community Center.
SLO BIKE RODEO & SAFETY COURSE | 11 AM | HAWTHORNE ELEM. | FREE | AGES 4-14
If you’re looking for a fun kid’s event this weekend in SLO, put on those bikes helmets!
The San Luis Obispo Parks and Recreation Department teamed up with the SLO Police Department, and are holding a Bike Rodeo Event Saturday.
The Bike Rodeo “Safety Town” course will start at 11 a.m. and is free for all kids between the ages of 4-14-years-old.
The event includes a safety skills ride, bike decorating and to finish up the fun, a BMX stunt show is scheduled from 2-3 p.m.
Participants must bring a bike, helmet and a signed safety waiver.
