Kids Spend Summer Mornings Singing and Dancing

A free program called Sandcastle Music Together is coming to Santa Barbara County Libraries that gets children involved in singing, rhyming, dancing, and more.

Kids as young as newborns up to age 7 and their parents enjoy making music together at the Santa Barbara Central Library on Tuesday.

Library staff said they are happy to expose more children to the library at such an early age.

Organizers said in addition, it positively impacts the lives of the entire family.

“Parents learn how they can integrate music into their daily lives,” said program co-director Nicole McKenzie. “It can help ease transitions for kids. It can help make a long car trip easier. It can make their life more enjoyable.”

Sandcastle Music Together will be performing in September at the Santa Barbara Public Library System branches on the following dates:

Tue, Sep 2 at Central Library, 10:30am (40 E. Anapamu St., Santa Barbara)
Wed, Sep 3 at Goleta Library, 10:30am (500 N. Fairview Ave., Goleta)
Thu, Sep 4 at Carpinteria Library, 10:30am (5141 Carpinteria Ave., Carpinteria)
Fri, Sep 5 at Montecito Library, 10:30am (1469 E. Valley Rd., Montecito)
Fri, Sep 12 at Eastside Library, 10:30am (1102 E. Montecito St., Santa Barbara)
