San Luis Obispo Woman Gets Kicked In Face After Entering Giraffe Enclosure

A San Luis Obispo woman got too close for comfort at a Wisconsin zoo over the weekend.

Amanda Hall, 24, climbed over a fence of a giraffe enclosure at Henry Villa Zoo in Madison, WI. Police say Hall was trying to jump over a second fence when a giraffe named Wally came over and gave Hall a lick. Then the giraffe turned around and kicked Hall in the face.

Zoo staff said the woman is lucky to have only minor injuries since giraffes are capable of killing lions with their kicks.

Hall said she climbed into the enclosure because she loves giraffes. She was fined nearly $700 for the offense.
