Two Santa Barbara County Sheriff Vans Crash in Santa Maria

Two Santa Barbara County sheriff vans and another vehicle crashed in Santa Maria Monday morning, sending three people to the hospital.

The Santa Maria Fire Department responded to the three-vehicle accident with injuries around 9:45 a.m.

The accident occurred at E Betteravia Road and South Miller St..

Two vehicles were traveling northbound on S Miller St. and the third vehicle was in the intersection.

All three vehicles reported various levels of damage.

Firefighters and EMS responders had to extricate and transport three patients to the hospital with moderate injuries, and the other two patients refused treatment.

The Santa Maria Police Department is investigating the cause of the accident.
