FARR 40 Regatta Brings Top International Teams to Santa Barbara Waters

The FARR 40 boat race takes place July 16-19 in Santa Barbara waters featuring some of the top international crews. This is the fourth stop in the West Coast Championship competition that ends in San Francisco.

40-foot high performance sailboats were in near shore waters practicing today. 15 will be competing.

During the races, the course will be about 1.5 miles long for each leg.

Teams have arrived from Australia, Mexico, Canada, Italy and several locations in the U.S. including three crews from Santa Barbara.

Bob Young, the Rear Commodore for the Santa Barbara Yacht Club says they are hosting several events for the crews and their supporters this week.
