Deputies Searching for Man Possibly Armed With a Knife
Santa Barbara County sheriff deputies are looking for man with a knife in Carpinteria. Just after 4 p.m. Monday deputies were called to the 5900 block of Hickory Street.
Children playing in the area told their parents they saw a man walking in the area with a knife. Once deputies arrived on the scene the man ran, jumped over a fence and fled into an orchard.
It is unknown why the man ran from the deputies. A sheriff’s spokesperson said at this time they do not believe he has threatened or hurt anyone.
Sheriff K-9 and helicopter units are assisting in the search.
