Shooting in Downtown Ventura Leaves Man in Critical Condition

A man is in critical condition after being shot in downtown Ventura.

Police say they received a call of a shooting in the parking lot to the rear of 53 South California Street near East Santa Clara Street just after 10 p.m. Sunday night.

When they arrived, they found a man suffering from several gunshot wounds. The victim was taken to Ventura County Medical Center where he underwent surgery for his injuries. He is listed in critical condition.

Police do not have anyone in custody at this time.
