Goleta Massage Parlors Are Target of Undercover Investigation

Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office Detectives with the Special Investigations Bureau and the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office have been conducting an on-going investigation of alleged prostitution at two massage parlors located in the City of Goleta; New Life Day Spa in the 5600 block of Calle Real and Total Relax Massage in the 5700 block of Hollister Avenue.

During the investigation, Undercover Detectives went into each business posing as a new patron requesting a massage. In each incident, the Undercover Detective was solicited for sexual activity by the masseuse, which was declined.

On Wednesday, December 11, search warrants were executed by the Special Investigations Bureau at both locations with the assistance of the Santa Barbara County District Attorney’s Office, City of Goleta Code Enforcement and the State of California’s Employment Development Department.

Based upon the investigation and evidence obtained, multiple Criminal and Labor Code citations were issued. At New Life Day Spa, 52 year old Ling Zhang was cited and released for Solicitation of Prostitution and 54 year old Guilan Wang was cited for multiple Labor Code violations.

Also, during the search of this business, an assault rifle was recovered and seized by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office pending further investigation.

At Total Relax Massage, 53 year old Guo Ping Huang was cited and released for Solicitation of Prostitution and 52 year old Lanqing Absher was cited for multiple Labor Code violations.
