Body Identified As Man From Mexico
San Luis Obispo County sheriff’s investigators now know the identity of a body found in a ditch in September.
Authorities believe Silvestre Montalban Lopez, from Guerrero, Mexico, was killed in Santa Maria and his body was dumped in drainage ditch in Nipomo between two fields.
They were able to determine Lopez’s identity from his fingerprints.
Sheriff’s officials have turned the investigation over to the Santa Maria Police Department.
