Goleta Gearing Up For 35K People at Weekend Lemon Festival

When life gives you lemons, make a festival!

Goleta will be hosting the 22nd Annual California Lemon Festival at Girsh Park this weekend. Organizers say 35,000 people are expected to attend the two-day event.

Lemon-everything will be on hand: lemon beer, lemon pies, lemonade, lemon bars, lemon tarts, lemon meringue pie funnel cake, and much more.

It’s not just lemons at the Lemon Festival; the world’s largest rolling grill will be there too. The Johnsonville Big Taste Grill is 65 feet of grilling machine. It weighs in at 53,000 pounds and has the ability to prepare 750 brats at a time — around 2,500 brats an hour.

The Lemon Festival is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
