Memorial walk in Santa Maria
The Santa Barbara District Attorney’s office and the Santa Maria Police Department hosted a special memorial walk on Sunday for victims who have died in car accidents.
Friends and family members gathered to remember victims like Frank Diaz and Jade Dodson, who died this year in car accidents.
The Traffic Safety and Awareness Memorial Walk is meant to raise money and awareness about the importance of driving safe. In the past year, Santa Maria has seen a handful of tragic accident.
Funds raised at the event will go directly to the victims’ families.
Organizers hope the mile-long walk will be the first of many, the hope is to keep the memorial going every year.
