The body and plane of a missing Solvang pilot found in Yosemite
The missing body and plane of a Solvang Pilot has been found in Yosemite after he went missing in December 2012.
Nicol Wilson was flying over Yosemite National Park when he disappeared.
The plane which was mostly still intact was spotted by a park visitor on Saturday near a camp ground in the rugged high country of Yosemite National Park. The parks rangers hiked to the location of the plane where Wilson’s body was found near his plane. He was later identified.
Reason has to why the plane went down was due to harsh winter weather conditions. Over the next several weeks, park rangers will be removing the plane.
Wilson was traveling from the Santa Ynez Airport to the Mammoth Lakes Airport when his plane disappeared. The search began in December but it was called of because of the winter season.
