Fire victim Billy Meng gets a new home

A victim from the recent White Fire in the Santa Ynez Valley has been given a new home.

Eighty-three-year-old Billy Meng, a former acclaimed surfer and fisherman, saw his camper go down in flames during the Memorial Day fire.

He said all his possessions were inside.

Hearing that, a group he often helped when they came into the Paradise Road campsite where Meng lived, came to his aid.

Members of the West Coast Rocky Mountain Horse Club donated and delivered a travel trailer filled with supplies for Meng.

He is now back at home at his campground site.
