Car crash causes major damage to police vehicle
Santa Barbara Police are investigating after one of their officers was involved in a car crash Wednesday.
It happened just before 5:30 p.m. at the intersection of De La Guerra and De La Vina streets. According to witnesses, a woman driving a red SUV crashed into the officer as he was driving down De La Vina Street.
The driver of the SUV was taken to the hospital. The officer and a passenger were taken to the hospital as well.
No injuries were reported, but the police car had major front-end damage. Surrounding streets were closed for police investigation.
