Gauchos stay hot as they pummel Pacific in baseball

Woody Woodward’s career-high five runs batted in was more than enough for UCSB pitcher Austin Pettibone to win his team-leadingeighth victory. The Gauchos whipped Pacific 12-1 for their seventh win in the past eight games as they improve to 13-9 in the Big West Conference.

Woodward had a bases loaded single in the third inning to score the first two runs of the game. His two-run single in the eighth inning finished off the scoring.

Pettibone allowed just five hits as the Gauchos improved to 30-21 on the year.
