Chargers head into baseball playoffs with walk-off win over Santa Barbara

Don’t tell the Dos Pueblos seniors that the regular season finale was meaningless. The Chargers had already clinched their second straight Channel League title but they did not want to lose to their rival on Senior Day.

Senior Dylan Rhode celebrated the occasion in style as his bases loaded single with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning scored fellow senior Ben York for the 2-1 walk-off victory. The win made the Chargers a perfect 3-0 over the second place Dons this year.

DP ends league with an 11-1 league record and a 20-8 mark overall. The Dons finished 8-4 in league.
