Women’s Fund donates large grants to nonprofit groups

The Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara has awarded grants totaling $525,000 to eight nonprofit groups.

The presentation came at the annual luncheon held at the Fess Parker Doubletree Resort.

Nearly 600 women are involved in the voting each year.

The groups chosen were carefully reviewed by 22 members in the research committee. That work included site visits to learn more about the funding needs and clientele.

Since 2004, the Women’s Fund has awarded more than $4 million to 55 nonprofits.

Of the money raised annually, 98 percent goes directly to grants.
