Brush fire reduced to 3 acres burned

A 5-acre brush fire has been reduced to 3 acres burned in San Luis Obispo County.

Fire crews began the mop-up stage around 1:45 p.m. Officials expect complete knockdown in between one and two hours.

It began around 12:50 p.m. on Monday near Edna Ranch on Orcutt Road.

Cal Fire San Luis Obispo responded with five engines and called for air tanker support.

A Cal Fire spokesperson said the flames were burning uphill at a moderate rate of speed.

No homes or structures were threatened. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

NewsChannel 3 has a crew on the scene and will bring the latest information as it is available.
