Head on collision in Carpinteria damages two vehicles

Two vehicles collided head on in Carpinteria this afternoon. No one was seriously hurt.

Investigators believe a driver going west on Carpinteria Avenue drifted over the center line hitting the front end of another car going east.

One vehicle ended up over the curb.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department investigated the crash and said the westbound driver may have been distracted and unfamiliar with the area.

Both vehicles were damaged and had to be towed away.
