Car rolls down 25-foot ravine into creek

A 94-year-old Santa Barbara man is recovering after losing control of his car and crashing down an embankment, according to the Santa Barbara police department.

The crash happened just after 4:30 p.m. on Alameda Padre Serra and Gutierrez street. The driver’s Lexus went 25 feet down a ravine into a creek.

Witnesses say the driver appeared “out of it.”

He had to be extricated and taken to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital, no word yet on the severity of his injuries.

No other cars were involved. No one else was hurt.
