Tip-A-Cop kicks off in Santa Barbara County

It’s the official kick off for Tip-A-Cop where law enforcement officials become volunteer waiters and waitresses to help the Special Olympics.

Tips earned by the servers go directly to benefit the local Special Olympics.

On Tuesday at Holdren’s Grill in Goleta, Santa Barbara County probation officers and Sheriff’s Office volunteers served up the meals, including Lt. Butch Arnoldi.

Arnoldi has been volunteering for 29 years in Santa Barbara County.

“It’s just rewarding to see these young men and women have the ability to participate in sports just like any other child,” he said.

Tip-A-Cop, along with the Torch Run, raised nearly $100,000 last year.
