Cement truck rollover shuts down highway lane for six hours

An investigation is underway to find out how a large cement truck overturned on Highway 101 on Monday in Ventura.

The rollover happened around 7:30 a.m. just before the Seaward Avenue exit northbound.

Ventura City fire crews said the driver of the cement truck was ejected and is recovering from moderate injuries.

Driver Jeffery Swift was carrying approximately 10 yards of cement to a construction project in the La Conchita area.

No other cars were involved in the crash.

The number three lane was closed for nearly six hours due to the overturned truck.
