Mission Santa Ines celebrates Pope Francis with prayers and bell ringing

Mission Santa Ines rang its bells as Pope Francis was introduced to the world. Many visitors and parishioners shared in the excitement.

The announcement could not have come at a better time for Catholics who are getting set to celebrate Holy Week and look for a sign of renewal.

Father Roel, from Honduras said, he believed the announcement would be made today. He said the Pope would, “unite the entire world. He is going to give the church a humble touch, and a simple touch.”

One visitor, Selene Brown said, “he seems simple. He was wearing that wooden cross which that right there was pretty amazing. He was very connected to the public.”
