Deputies search for teen’s killer
Ventura County sheriff’s Department officials are looking for the gunman who shot and killed 16-year-old Josue Alejandro Lopez Wednesday afternoon.
Neighbors said the teen they called Alex died just a down the street from his own home around 4 p.m. near the corner of Stroube and Alvarado streets near schools and churches.
Investigators heard there was an argument in the street before the shooting.
Witnesses told them they saw two young men get in a brown or tan SUV and head south on Alvarado Street toward the freeway. They do not know whether the homicide was gang related.
