Chumash tribe re-elects chairman

Leadership for the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians will stay the same. Members re-elected Vincent Armenta as their tribal chairman, and incumbents for the tribal business committee.

The tribe holds an election for the positions every two years. This is Armenta’s 14th year as a tribal chairman. The tribe credits him for making it one of the most successful tribes in the state.
