Recreation fees could go up

The cost for some recreation fees in Santa Barbara County, ranging from aquatics to camping, could be going up.

The county’s Community Services Department is proposing increases in many areas including overnight camping at Jalama Beach and Lake Cachuma.

The proposed hikes for camping would be $3 dollars a night, and cabins would go up $10 dollars a night.

If passed by the County Board of Supervisors at tomorrow’s meeting, it could bring in an extra $230,000 a year.
