Coffin wins 30th annual Rincon Classic surf contest

A huge score in the semifinals set the tone as Conner Coffin won the Pro Division of the 30th annual Rincon Classic.

The Santa Barbara native posted a 9.53 to advance to the finals and out surfed the competition to win. Coffin, 19, is considered one of the best young surfers in the world and has several titles.

The Rincon Classic brought out over 200 surfers and huge crowds to the Carpinteria area beach.

This year’s event was dedicated to 8-year-old Daisy Love Merrick who passed away from cancer in February.
